Client Comfort in the Clinic
FM’s treatment room is a comfortable, warm escape and relaxed setting. The Remedial treatment procedures are usually and most effectively performed on your body in your underwear, shorts or loose fitting clothing, whilst you are fully covered with towels at all times.
You can bring along your partner to sit and chat with you whilst being treated.
It is better for clients to shower before attending the Clinic in order to minimise any environmental pollutants being rubbed into your skin. It is also better to avoid eating a heavy meal before a treatment.
*Treatment & Techniques
The initial assessment prior to a Remedial treatment includes Medical History taking, Static & Dynamic Posture & Gait Analysis, General Musculoskeletal Screen & Joint Range of Motion Testing, Functional Movement Screen, and Orthopaedic Special Testing.
Musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction whether presenting as acute or chronic, is assessed to determine the aetiology, the biomechanical functioning of each individual’s musculoskeletal system, and the resultant pathophysiological effects.
Every person’s perception of pain is individual and unique, and therefore, pain and pressure tolerances differ between each person and each body part. Remedial sessions at FM’s Remedial Therapy Clinic with regards to safety and the amount of pressure appropriate for each client, are always communicative, respectful, and attentive to each individual client’s requests.
Remedial massage therapy as taught in Australian accredited educational institutions consists of various integrated manual bodywork treatment techniques. It is not a deep tissue massage, or a trigger point pain-finding session!
